Mr. Bain has been a senior executive and business leader in the Aerospace & Defense industry for over 25 years. His experience spans both mid-size private and publicly held companies as well as leading A&D business units operating within large diversified businesses. He is a leader in transforming organizations and in developing and executing strategic planning processes to drive ongoing corporate performance improvements.
Mr. Bain worked for Carpenter Technologies Corporation as Vice President and General Manager of their Dynamet, Inc. subsidiary. Mr. Bain had full responsibility for the global company with manufacturing facilities in the United States and distribution centers in California and Belgium.
Prior to that Mr. Bain was employed by RTI International Metals, Inc., where he served as Senior Director, Strategic Development, responsible for growth of the company. He held responsibility over three P&L centers including mill products, advanced forming and fabrication and distribution of specialty titanium products.
Before RTI, Mr. Bain served as Chairman of the Board and President of Celestica’s defense subsidiary, Celestica Aerospace Technologies Corporation. Under Mr. Bain’s leadership the company grew at greater than 20% CAGR ($40M to $100M+) through the period, while adding numerous strategic customers. The company was formed under an SSA as Celestica was a Canadian parent company, to facilitate participation in the U.S. market with a NISP facility security clearance. Mr. Bain had also served as General Manager for all of Celestica’s A&D business, including facilities in Canada, Spain and Malaysia.
