Kate Jackson, Ph.D.
Dr. Jackson is an accomplished executive leader with a highly successful career in electricity generation, energy system operations and technology management, advanced and additive manufacturing, manufacturing process improvement and metals research in both the private and public sectors. As Chief Technology Officer for three major corporations, she has commercialized technologies, led R&D platforms for business growth and industrial manufacturing system productivity and sustainability, developed intellectual property protocols and negotiated lucrative technology investment partnerships.
Dr. Jackson worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority for 17 years during which time she was responsible for the management of the 6,000 megawatt hydropower system, flood control, navigation, dam safety, public lands management, environmental services, and research and development activities. She then joined Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC where she was responsible for the development of technology-based growth strategies and subsequently she led the technology investments, corporate innovation strategy as well as the company’s environmental sustainability initiatives aimed at minimizing the impact of global business activities on the environment.
In her career, Dr. Jackson also worked at RTI International Metals, Inc., Alcoa, and the National Academy of Engineering. Dr. Jackson holds an M.S. in Industrial Engineering Management from the University of Pittsburgh and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.
